Anyone want to buy my house???

So, it's official. My house is on the market. If you know ANYONE who wants to buy a house in Blue Springs, send them my way! It's a great house and it's priced to sell!

The Rest of the Trip

So we found a house... There was drama involved, but we liked it the first day we saw it (Saturday). Other than house hunting, we ate at some AMAZING restaurants. Pok-e-Jo's had yummy BBQ, Saccones had delicious pizza, Rudy's is the place for breakfast tacos, and La Margarita had the most delicious Mexican food with HUGE portions! Matthew enjoyed being in the pool for the first time, Nicholas loved plane watching at the airport, and we all loved Zilker park (the train, the playground, what's not to love?!?!). The weather was gorgeous (except on arrival day) and a good time was had by all! Texas, here we come!

First Flight

Last Friday, we took the boys on their first plane ride. We were heading to Texas to search for a new house! Nicholas was pretty excited, mostly about the free apple juice on the plane! We woke the boys up really early and headed to KCI. Everything was going great, we checked our bags, waited (almost) patiently for the plane, and boarded without issue. Our 1 1/2 hour flight ended up being nearly a disaster. The weather was pretty stormy so the turbulence was awful. Nicholas didn't seem to mind although I felt close to being sick! We were landing in Dallas, 200 ft. from the runway, ready to land when our pilot pulled up and accelerated quickly. Everyone on the flight was white as a ghost and it was silent. Funny Nicholas said, "we're going to crash!". But he wasn't scared, he was just being silly. Several times he would say we were going down or up. Hopefully we didn't scare anyone. Because of the scary weather, we headed to Shreveport, Louisiana for fueling and better weather. A 1 1/2 hour flight took 5 1/2 hours!!! While in the Dallas airport, we waited in line FOREVER to figure out a new flight for us (we obviously missed our 11:10am flight). We RAN to the other end of the airport and caught the next flight out. Unfortunately, a 40-50 minute flight took over 2 hours because of the crazy flight path we were required to take! Instead of looking at houses on Friday afternoon (we were supposed to arrive at noon), we stopped for dinner (we hadn't eaten since breakfast!!!). The kids did awesome on the long day of airplanes and waiting. We figure it was a good trial run, probably one of the worst flights they will ever be on! The best part was that our luggage was WAITING FOR US after our second flight! It made it! We were worried about the car seats, etc. wondering how we'd leave the airport! More about the trip later...

#1 vs. #2

For anyone who believes my children look alike, I give you this evidence to ponder. Here is Matthew's 10 month picture compared to Nicholas. I even tried to find a picture of Matthew making a Nicholas-like face.
Anyway, Matthew is 10 months old today. Where does the time go? He is so quick! He crawls, cruises, and walks while holding hands. Whatever it takes to go, go, go! He is less attached to Mommy. In fact, Daddy was holding him this morning and I don't think he really cared to come to me! It was a proud moment! Enjoy the pics!

Easter Fun

Cake Trial

At 8:30pm on Saturday, my mom and I made our 1st attempt to make a monkey cake. I was tired & not too excited about the task, so I decorated VERY quickly. Here is the fruit of our efforts. I'll try harder for the real thing. My hand was very tired!!!

New Car!

So Jason's Taurus finally bit the dust. I guess we could have pumped more money into it and saved it, but we aren't so "car smart". Anyway, Jason bought a 2007 Honda Accord on Saturday. Here are two pics - Nicholas enjoying his 1st ride and a pic of the car.

Peace Pavilion

Today we had another great playdate with the Gacke girls! We went to the Children's Peace Pavilion. Although our little ones may have been too young to really get the message, they had a lot of fun exploring this place! There was a cave, an ocean room, an outer-space room, ladders to climb, tunnels to explore, and so much more! What fun (and free)! Again this makes me sad. How many more playdates with our girls? Today Nicholas told me that Merrick is one of his three best friends. How cute is that? Anyway, enjoy our pics from today!

Fun Run!

Yesterday we got to see our friends Becky, Merrick, & Macy. While we always enjoy seeing them, yesterday was extra special. We know it is one of the last few times our kiddos will get to play together. Becky & I are a lot alike... and it makes friendship so easy! She understands me & knows where I'm coming from most of the time! We will miss them terribly! Nicholas and Merrick had a blast at Fun Run in Liberty. Matthew & Macy are waiting for their turn to be big too! Merrick really enjoyed the play house and other pretend areas while Nicholas seemed to prefer the giant slides! Although they had different "favorites", they ended up together quite often just because they wanted to play with the other! After two hours of play time, we headed to O'Charleys for our free kids meals. Gotta love a place with free food for the kids! It was a fun day and we can't wait to do it again... how about tomorrow?
