Weekend events

We had a pretty low-key weekend. Nicholas played with Grandma, Grandpa, & Uncle Andrew while Mom & Dad went out on a date. Nicholas also helped put together the new glider/ottoman for the baby's room but really just loved playing "house" in the empty box! On Sunday, Nicholas & Jason went to the driving range - we had such beautiful weather - and Nicholas was quite impressive. On the way home, Jason suggested picking up Sheridan's ice cream for me & Nicholas asked if they were getting flowers too. So they stopped and Nicholas picked out some flowers for his mom. Isn't that the sweetest thing? Such sweet boys I have!

Dr. appt

Today Nicholas & I saw Dr. Trout (my o.b.) and it seems like everything is going very well! The baby's heartbeat was in the 160s today - a little lower than last appt. Start sending me messages, those who believe in the heartbeat predicting gender! So many have told me they think it's a girl. What will Jason do??? Poor Nicholas already believes it's a boy - I think he's under the impression he can order up whatever gender of baby he wants! Our next appt. is scheduled for February 12th where we'll have an ultrasound (and prove all you people right... or not!), I get my first weekly steriod injection, and then I'll see the Dr. My new instructions are to decrease activity levels at 20 weeks - guess no more elliptical & sounds like Jason will be cleaning the house & making dinner! :)
Here's a picture of my little Bears Fan (you can't see, but he's wearing his NFL undies & Bears socks too)!

Cool Dude Glasses

Today Nicholas went to the eye doctor & got glasses! He is quite far-sighted (opposite of Mom & Dad) with a prescription of +4 (I think one eye might be a little stronger than that). The doctor thinks that this might be a result of his prematurity & being on oxygen for so long (but no retinopathy of prematurity - very good sign). His prescription is not full strength yet, we'll work into that during our frequent eye doctor visits over the next year or so. He's not sure about them & mom is getting used to the idea too. I think they are not so bothersome, even one hour into wearing the new glasses!

Nicholas turns 3!

Nicholas had such a great birthday! On the 3rd (actual b-day) we went to Nicholas' music class and invited some of our good friends. After class we enjoyed lunch at Red Robin.

Last Saturday, we had a family birthday party and Nicholas had such a good time. He loves playing with cousins Cale & Cooper and, of course, loved all his new presents.
